Adolfo Hohenstein - La Boheme, Musica di Puccini - Art Print

20” x 28” - Art Print

About the Artist / Artwork

The drama and spectacle of 19th Century Italian opera was perfectly conveyed by the flamboyant posters of Adolfo Hohenstein (1854 – 1928). Hohenstein, a German Art Nouveau master, was so synonymous with the Italian spirit that he was called “Father of the Italian Poster.” Hired by Ricordi, a music publisher which also printed posters advertising its music, Hohenstein oversaw their staff, designed postcards, and created his signature posters. Hohenstein’s 10-foot-tall posters transformed the Italian poster into an art form and perfectly complemented the drama of the theatrical Italian opera.

An offset lithography printing press gives this fine art print its vivid and sharp appearance. The standardized printing plates and proofing process guarantee that each print displays colors precisely as the artist or publisher intended. Produced on medium weight cover stock, this high-quality reproduction is coated with a silken finish that protects the inks and creates an elegant look. The versatile art print strikes a balance between quality and affordability.

Adolfo Hohenstein - Puccini, La Boheme - Giclee Print

9” x 12” - Giclee Print

About the Artist / Artwork

The spectacular “Puccini La Boheme” by Adolfo Hohenstein was the perfect counterpart for the flamboyant 19th Century Italian opera music it advertised. A German Art Nouveau master, Hohenstein (1854 – 1928) was so intertwined with the Italian spirit that he was dubbed “Father of the Italian Poster.” The Italian poster became an art form when music publisher Ricordi began printing them in-house, resulting in immense works whose drama paired well with the theatrical Italian opera.

This product is reproduced from a publication, advertisement, or vintage print. In an effort to maintain the artistic accuracy of the original image, this final product has not been retouched.
This Giclee Print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, Giclee (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the papers surface. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, Giclee prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.
