The spectacular “Puccini La Boheme” by Adolfo Hohenstein was the perfect counterpart for the flamboyant 19th Century Italian opera music it advertised. A German Art Nouveau master, Hohenstein (1854 – 1928) was so intertwined with the Italian spirit that he was dubbed “Father of the Italian Poster.” The Italian poster became an art form when music publisher Ricordi began printing them in-house, resulting in immense works whose drama paired well with the theatrical Italian opera.This product is reproduced from a publication, advertisement, or vintage print. In an effort to maintain the artistic accuracy of the original image, this final product has not been retouched.
